The sequel to Friday the 13th came hot on the heels of its predecessor and was notable for introducing the main series antagonist in the form of Jason. The recuperating Alice is resting in the nearby town of Crystal Lake, only to be murdered by an unseen figure. Many years after Mrs Voorhees’ spree, the campsite has become a place of local legend, avoided by most parties. A counsellor training centre nearby however soon becomes the target of Alice’s mysterious killer who sequentially offs the counsellors-in-training with only the leader Ginny having some sort of idea who it might be. After the furore that the first entry caused, the MPAA came down heavily on the sequel and truncated it heavily to gain the R-rating. This cut version is the only version available even today, but the DPP still found it warranted seizure by the police.
