The Beast in Heat | 1977 | Italy | Luigi Batzella

One of a cycle of so-called Nazisploitation movies featuring fictionalised Nazi atrocities, The Beast in Heat is a rather cheap exploitation film chronicling the actions of Italian partisan soldiers as they fight to free their occupied village of Nazi oppression. Their efforts are hampered by a cruel S.S. doctor who has created a monstrous simian man who sexually attacks any who enter his cage. Inspired by the success of Ilsa She-Wolf of the S.S., the film is actually a composite of stock footage from one of Batzella’s old film, plus 20 minutes of new footage. Its scenes of sexual violence, including pubic hairs being ripped off and consumed, ensured it was prosecuted as a video nasty.
